Ceci est l'histoire d'une frustration! Mes deux grandes passions sont les livres et la danse. Je ne peux vivre sans esquisser un petit pas de danse ni lire un chapitre d'un livre. C'est essentiel à ma vie. Et donc, quand un film parle de danse, je me dois de le regarder. C'est ainsi depuis Dirty Dancing, et même si les scénarios sont plutôt prévisibles, les scènes de danse me mettent dans un états proche de l'extase.
This is the story of a big, big frustration! My two biggest passions in life are books and dance. I cannot live without grooving a bit everyday, and I certainly cannot live without reading " just a last chapter " before sleeping either. And so, when I stumble upon a dance movie, I MUST watch it. It's been like this since Dirty Dancing, and even if the story is always somewhat predictable, the dance scenes are making it up.
Battle, donc, est un film norvégien disponible sur Netflix, qui raconte la rencontre d'une fille plutôt riche pratiquant la danse moderne, avec un charmant jeune homme des cités, qui fait du hip hop. (Parenthèse pour ajouter que " charmant " est juste en dessous de la réalité, l'acteur est à tomber. Mais je m'égare).
And so, Battle is a Nowegian movie on Netflix, telling the story of a rich girl taking modern dance classes with a charming young man from a (much less) rich background who dances hip hop. (Just to say that " charming " is waaaay below the level of actual hotness of the actor, but that's another story. OMG he's so hot, my new crush!!).
Le film est tiré d'un livre en norvégien. Evidemment. J'ai écumé l'internet, et la seule traduction dispo est en allemand. En allemand!!! Oui j'ai fait allemand LV1 renforcée dans une vie antérieure, mais de là à lire un livre dans la langue de Goethe, y'a un pas quand même.
The movie is based on a Norwegian book. Of course it's in Norwegian. I need the book. I need to compare the movie and the book, especially because there are so many interesting secondary characters that are not really developed in the movie. But the only available translation is in German. German!!! Alright, I did study German in a previous life, but I hated it. Doesn't help my case at all.
Donc, je suis frustrée. J'espère qu'un jour prochain, avec le succès netflixien de ce film, le livre trouvera un traducteur anglais (et rêvons un peu, peut-être même français!).
And so, I'm frustrated. I do hope that soon enough, with the Netflix success of the movie, an English or French translation will be available.
En attendant je ronge mon frein et me passe en boucle la bande son, très norvégienne et très bonne, de ce petit film très sympa.
In the meantime, I am obsessively playing the excellent (and oh so Norwegian) soundtrack of the movie.
